Hey there
I cant find the rule about this so I might be mixed up. But im going to throw it out there anyway.
If a team has a player on their major league roster in the off season, and he doesnt make the opening day roster, does that player need to be cut?
If so, I think the rule should be, he can be demoted to the farm team, before opening day.
Im sure the league brass can inform me if im right or wrong if the rule even needs to be suggested.
All thoughts and input is welcomed.

Much like the hockey league, if you have a guy on your roster, and he's been on your roster, if he's demoted you can put him on the farm. Is there somebody specific you're worried about?

Im thinking more about just before the season starts. Lets say Brian Flynn doesnt make the marlins final opening day roster, and he starts in the minors. Am I able to demote him the my farm team during the offseason (right before the season starts)?

the moment a mjor league team demotes a player he is eligible to be demoted to your farm. He must, however, officially be demoted by a mlb team before he become eligible to be placed on a fpbl farm team (this is also assuming that said player is not already under the prospect limits)

one more question then. If young Brian Flynn is under the prospects limits right now, is he eligible to be demoted to my farm team in the off season?
Thanks for the clarification.

Assuming that he is in fact, as of before the first day of the 2014 season, under the limit then yes is can be demoted whenever
