I believe I'm on the board and select P Gerrit Cole.....I dont see him rostered although I know he was drafted in 2008 and re-entered the draft this year.

Yoenis Cespedes is not the property of a MLB team as of yet and thus is ineligible to be drafted at this point. SOP will be given the chance now to make another selection before Riot's next pick

This is one of the rules under "Entry draft rules"
If the player is not property of an MLB team, then just the league is fine

This is one of the rules under "Entry draft rules" If the player is not property of an MLB team, then just the league is fine This is my fault. We discussed this at the start of the offseason and it was decided that players need to be property of an MLB team to be farm eligible. I never updated the language on the rules page, but I will take care of that over the weekend (tonight if possible). The discussion on the matter can be viewed here.

Here's the rule:
A "Prospect" shall include any player who has not "graduated" to the MLB that has been eligible for at least one MLB draft.
I thought that we were NEVER allowed to draft international players (since they have NOT been eligible for at least one MLB draft). The proposed rule change, which unless I am wrong (which is possible) to ALLOW for international players, was voted down. Therefore, there is NO RULE CHANGE. Nothing is being changed retroactively, it is as it always was.
Or am I missing something?

If chippy is right than how did nishioka get drafted last year by my team We had our draft much later last year, so he had signed w/ the Twins by then. We have NEVER allowed players that aren't associated to a MLB team to be drafted.

OK, let me try to clear this up. First, Randy is absolutely right about Nishioka. Secondly, We did change the language of the rule a bit. This is just off the top of my head, but the way the rule was previously worded allowed for players who were MLB draft eligible, but not necessarily drafted (ie, anybody who had graduated high school) to be drafted in our league. I didn't really like this idea, and decided it needed to be clarified, and in the process of coming up with new language realized that this loophole also allowed the drafting of foreign players. At this point I went to the league to see how they felt about it, so while the foreign player part was voted down, there is some change in the language to exclude undrafted NCAA players from being drafted. So even though the spirit of the rule wasn't changed, as it was never my intention to allow undrafted college players to be drafted, the language will be tweaked to better reflect it. So foreign players are not draft eligible unless they are property of an MLB team at the start of the draft. It wouldn't be fair to allow a player to be drafted at pick 2.3 if he wasn't draft eligible at 2.2. Any player that is drafted must be property of an MLB team. I'm sorry for the confusion, as this is 100% my fault. Now that the Sons of Pitches had made their pick we will give Running Riot a fresh 12 hhours to make their selection. I hope this clears everything up, and once again, I'm sorry.
