Farm Teams Defined:
Each team will have a fifteen player Farm Team. (teams will be allowed to go over the farm limit only in the offseason [post championship game until the start of the waiver draft])
Each Farm Team's Prospects will be tracked on the Message Board (http://fpbl.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=farm&action=post)
The actual players will be in the free agent pool, but are NOT permitted for picking up by any team other than the team which owns that players rights.
Prospect Defined:
A "Prospect" shall include any player who has not "graduated" to the MLB that has been eligible for at least one MLB draft.
Prospect eligibility will be based on their status before the first game of the MLB season.
Prospects are not eligible to be added until the first offseason after they are drafted. In this way all newly drafted players will be eligible for the Entry Draft before they are eligible to be added via free agency, regardless of their MLB status.
If a prospect plays his 250th ab/100th ip during this season he will still be farm eligible until the cut-down date during the next offseason.
Only players on an active MLB roster or in the process of being demoted to the Farm Team are allowed on a fantasy team’s main roster.
A prospect does not have to be property of an MLB team to be farm team eligible.
A player who is demoted to the minor leagues is automatically farm eligible, regardless of AB/IP.
Prospect Demotion:
A notification must be sent PRIOR to a team dropping their prospect into the main free agent pool.
A prospect is NOT officially demoted until he has been added to the Farm Team list. This player should be kept on the main roster until the Farm Team list has been updated with the demotion. (This allows for verification of the prospects farm team requirements)
A player may be sent to the farm team if it meets these requirements:
If the player is demoted from his MLB team to the minors he must be either cut or demoted to the farm. That player needs to be on a FPBL active roster for 10 days in order to be farm eligible.
If the player is NOT demoted to the minors (ie: fantasy owners own choice to demote) then that player needs to be on a FPBL roster for 30 days
FPBL service time carries over if a player is traded. Therefore, a player needs to be on a FPBL active roster for a combined 10 or 30 days between the two or more teams in order to be farm eligible.
Prospect Promotion:
A Notification must be sent confirming the promotion of a Prospect
NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The team owner will post to the "Farm Team Transactions" Message Board Thread with the following information:
Player Name
Player's MLB team association
Position
Date Added to the main roster
Farm Director will update the farm team thread, removing the prospect from the Farm Team and labeling him "PROMOTED"
Prospect Trading:
A prospect can be traded at any time before the trade deadline.
The league must be notified of all prospects involved at the time of the trade, via the message boards.
BOTH teams MUST confirm the trade. If the trade is not confirmed within 48 hours by both teams the trade is NULL and VOID, pending LM ruling, and a new deal must be made.
The Trade info needs to include the following:
